Wharton County, Texas

Aerial application in Wharton County, Texas

Wharton County is mostly cropland between the Colorado and San Bernard rivers, and aerial application suits the size of its fields.

We fly from locations in Bay City, Ballinger, Cameron and Brady, Texas.

Row-crop country on the Colorado River

Wharton County was formed in 1846 from parts of Matagorda, Jackson and Colorado counties, and the town of Wharton is the seat.  The Colorado River runs across it from northwest to southeast, and the San Bernard River marks part of its northeastern edge.  Much of the land is prairie, including the treeless Lissie Prairie.[1]

Large, level fields with few obstacles are well matched to work from the air.  Where a field is too wet for a sprayer or spreader, a plane can still get over it.

Do you take jobs in Wharton County?

I farm several hundred acres of row crops.  Is aerial application practical for that?

Large, open fields are a common fit for aerial work, because a plane covers acreage without driving over the crop.  Call (256) 590-3869 to talk through your fields.

Our ranch sits across the line from Wharton County.  Does that rule it out?

No. Pick up the phone anyway, since adding counties is something we are always working on.
