Runnels County, Texas

Aerial application in Runnels County, Texas

Runnels County is rolling prairie cut by creeks and the Colorado River, and aerial application is one way to cover acres like these.

We fly from locations in Bay City, Ballinger, Cameron and Brady, Texas.

Prairie, creeks and a working agricultural economy

Runnels County covers about 1,060 square miles of mostly rolling prairie, with a corner of the Edwards Plateau in the southeast and the Colorado River crossing its southern third.  Ballinger is the seat of government and the biggest town, with Miles and Winters as the other incorporated towns.  The 2022 Census of Agriculture counted 1,039 farms on 672,612 acres, and livestock and livestock products made up 79 percent of sales.[1,3]

Open prairie with wheat, cotton and grain sorghum fields next to pasture is the kind of country where an aircraft can work large acreages in one pass after another.  Creek bottoms, fence lines and wet ground can slow a ground rig, and an aircraft is not held up by them.

Aerial application in Runnels County

Do you fly applications over Runnels County fields and pasture?

Yes.  Runnels County is one of the Texas counties we currently serve.  Call (256) 590-3869 and tell us which side of the county the land is on.

Can an aircraft handle large wheat or cotton acreages?

Large, open fields are where aerial application is commonly used, because one aircraft can cover a lot of ground without driving through the crop.  Give us the field size and the product you have in mind, and we can work through it together.

My ranch is just outside the county line.  Should I still call?

Yes, please call.  We are always looking to add counties, and a short conversation costs nothing.
